Company’s challenge
The main challenge is to optimize production site operations in order to minimize the number of containers needed to ensure supplies, while minimizing unused production intervals. All this in a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) logic. This requires to:
- Design in synergy production, customer supply, container fleet and container transportation to customer sites;
- Prioritize the most critical operations to maximize production site throughput, taking into account current manufacturing orders;
- Efficiently manage stock capacities and container volume and cost constraints;
- Optimize the management of loading docks and container fleets to streamline shipments.

Atoptima's solution provides a complete and feasible planning of production and replenishment routes, helping to increase production site performance.The company is now able to effectively manage its operations by estimating the residual capacity of the production site, giving it the visibility it needs to deliver on its customer promise.Moreover, the optimization solver can be used to simulate various scenarios to adapt the sizing of the production site, whether by adding new resources or modifying existing processes.
